I like the idea of "grading" my days, I think maybe because I have never been a good student and now I can give myself some A's?
I am unfortunately losing steam a bit. I haven't seen any results and though I know I'm only a little over a week in, I feel as though I should have lost something by now. I guess in the past I've always been able to drop weight once I started trying and right now I am definitely trying.
I shared this with one of my "skinny bitch" friends today, and I am going to vent about what she said... (It's okay, I already told her I am going to blog about her for being so annoying)
She mentioned that I should remember how I suddenly got thin when Lucy hit about six months and I verified that that seems to be the time that weight from breastfeeding seemed to just start falling off.
"Well [my baby] is almost six months. So do I have that to look forward to soon?"
Mind you, this is a dear friend of mine who lost all her baby weight before her 6-week postpartum appointment.
I'm pretty sure I warned you size 2's out there about this sort of behavior. My journey and blog are about us women who are real and have babies and gain weight and need comments of encouragement and support. Not things like, "I'm not a size 2. I'm the same size as you.....at your skinniest...."
These are the exact comments that I am pretty sure I asked you to refrain from. Watch out skinny bitches; I just may get realllll hungry reallllll soon. Consider this your warning. Next thing you know one of you is going to try to stop me from eating something. And I will snap. (and by snap I mean stop sharing the intimate details of my weight loss goals while you make me feel bad about myself)
That being said, I am starting to worry that my high vegetable diet is affecting Clara. I've always understood the concept that some things you eat may make your nursing baby irritable, but I have always seen my little babies as milk fiends who will eat anything put in front of them. It could also just be the fact that she's teething. (Yes, she's 3-mo-old this week and getting teeth. My children want to chew on steaks as young as humanly possible).
Speaking of little Clara, she has now been sleeping in her crib through the night consistently and we decided she may now take full claim of her bedroom. This only makes me sad because I have loved having a guest room for visitors. Now Tony and I are motivated to renovate the attic into a guest suite hopefully in January...after we paint the kitchen....after we finish the trim in the kitchen....after we tile the landing by the kitchen..... We sure do love our house projects :)
I finally found the right tool on livestrong.com to calorie count for me. Yesterday I ate 1250 calories. I'd give myself an A for the day but 400 of them were from annivesary cake. I am just glad I got rid of the rest of that thing so it can't taunt me anymore (...by eating it...).
Yesterday?
B :)

i'm glad your using the calorie counter! it works great! don't forget, even though you are eating 1250 calories, bf-ing will take a lot that from u! i feel the same way about skinny bitches! but we will be back to our normal size before we know it! i'm not gonna check the scale every day any more..you with me on that one? love you doll!
ReplyDeleteI gained twice as much with my first... but lost all my weight in a year or so. With the second I gained half as much and haven't been able to get it off yet (getting close to three years!!). So I hope that I'm the exception to the rule... but my body didn't act the same after my pregnancies. I'm loosing steam too... but the nice thing about paying a few months ahead is that I can't give up! Every time I read your blog I suddenly crave cheeseburgers...I'm not sure why...
ReplyDeleteGo Anna!! Soon enough I will be able to join you in the losing weight department....I am trying....really trying to watch what I put in my mouth these next 4-5 weeks but so far it is not working. Soon we can start working out together. Have you looked into getting a treadmill or gym membership? We are looking into getting an eliptical! However I will look forward to being able to vent to you and vice versa about losing weight. I shall call soon with an OB update!!!
ReplyDeleteAnna!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading these and I just want you to know how much I adore you. If you lived in Hudson/Baldwin I would be thrilled to be able to hang with you and your girls and support you in your weight loss journey. As for now, let me just say, you are awesome.
