30 day Failure...

I am so behind on my 30 day challenge, but I am okay with that.  On that note I am clumping three days together.

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Easy.  Shania Twain.  Duh.
Sometimes she even makes me want to go to my natural hair color brunette.

Enough said.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

This is probably an easy "given", but my wedding ring.  Lucky for me I had a photographer who loved taking pictures of my ring :)

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh

This picture was taken in Grand Cayman on our honeymoon. I was twelve weeks pregnant with Clara and we went on a cruise. It was pretty much the worst thing ever. We have many pictures of Tony, as he was always saying "Take a picture of me!"  His face is my favorite. This picture makes me laugh every time.

30-day challenge aside, I have had a great week and getting very excited for some spring weather.  I am headed into week three of my 5k training.  Some of you naturally athletic people or long distance runners (I don't like you, btw) may scoff at this, but for those of you who are winded after a mile like myself, I encourage you to do the Couch to 5K Program like myself.  It has been awesome so far.  Today, I was extra brave and wore plain tight leggings.  I warned my running partners ahead of time that the tightness of my pants might make them uncomfortable.  Sorry, again :)

The lent season has begun and, per usual,  I didn't put a lot of thought into what I was going to give up for lent until Ash Wednesday.  My husband has given up coffee. Rough.  I decided that since I've already given up dairy, I couldn't bear anything else.  Tony reminded me that now if I cheat and have a bite of cheese it's not only cheating Clara (who will be up crying), but also Jesus.  Thanks, honey.  Nothing like some good old Catholic guilt.

He then challenged me to give up Target.

Ummm, doubt it.

For 40 days?  No way, no how. Besides, what if I want a cute Easter dress for the little ladies from there?

On Friday morning I had been signed up to bring a brunch dish for my mom group.  I was going to make the typical ham and swiss quiche when it dawned on me that it was the first Friday of lent.  (For those of you who don't know, Catholics do not eat meat on Fridays during lent)  I then had a mild panic attack as I realized I was going to have to go the entire day without meat or cheese.  I didn't even know what to do with myself.  I thought I was going to have to starve.  I mean, what other food groups are there even?  I quickly thought of my friend Kendra, the vegan.  I thought WWKD?  As much as I hate it, it has been good for me to become aware of how much of certain things I eat once I eliminate them from my diet.  When I was pregnant with Lucy the doctor made me give up salt completely.  I am much more aware, even now, of things that have salt in them and what my intake is.  I do still want to try going gluten free at some point.  Have you seen my gluten free friend Britt's blog yet?
